It's Done

My final COHS craft show was this weekend and I think I was given the sign that it is truly done: Two day show, $16 in sales. What a way to waste a weekend. I got a little choked up on my way out of the parking lot. I used to have so much fun at that show. Now I have no more craft shows.

I've looked for shows closer to home, but there doesn't seem to be any. And if I do find any, I'm sure they won't want me because there are always too many jewelry people. That's what happened at O'Hara. When I started there was only a couple of jewelry booths. This weekend there were 15+ at a show with only 80 spaces. Oh well...

The Lemon Tree

Michael wanted a lemon tree for his birthday so we got one. The problem is that I think the pot is too big and it is going to be a monster. I am told every flower will be a lemon. I think I am going to have to open a farm stand in a few months...

This is it...

After this weekend, I am giving up on my final craft show. I have been doing this show for more than 15 years. It was much easier when I lived closer to the venue, but now I am more than 20 miles away. Its a two day show that leaves me exhausted by Sunday night.

The show has changed over the years. I used to be one of two jewelry designers, now I am one of more than 15, and the show is not that big. Several of the "artists" don't even make their own product.

I don't know what I am going to do with all of my pieces and supplies. I haven't been able to find any local shows since I moved.

Its time to move on, I just don't know where...

Wanted: Glitter

I need more glitter in my life. Somewhere along the way, I lost my sparkle and I need to get it back. I've been feeling down for quite some time, and its starting to wear me down. (last Friday didn't help) The heavy cloud that hangs over me for 8 hours every day at work isn't making things any better.

I loved the sparkling lights that were hanging everywhere at Squam. It made everything seem more magical. I want to find a way to hang them in my studio to give it a more comfortable feeling and so it seems less cold.

Maybe if I get a little more sparkles around me I'll be a little happier.
